I do not usually post pictures of runway show outfits, if not for any other reason than because every blogger feels compelled to cover at least one fashion week.
However, I saw this 2015 Resort line from DKNY and had to share.
How would I describe it? The ol' "Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue"..comes to mind.
DKNY isn't necessarily breaking new ground here with their pieces, and that's fine, there is no need to re-invent the wheel with every single show. You see their pieces, the styling of the pieces specifically, and it looks pretty familiar.
Many of us have styled our outfits with monochromatic fitteds that proudly displayed the intials of our home state, many of us have worn sneakers with formal wear, and many of us have layered leather jackets over leather vests....this is the something old.
The new is the sequined jersey jackets and dress (I may be wrong, but I believe that is new). That's a really fun twist on a classic urban look. The fringed sweats, and feathered scuba.
Borrowed, of course, is the scuba skirts. I don't believe they were the first ones to design with scuba material.
And blue, well, aside from the obvious blue of the outfit, there is a more subtle baby blue in the sneakers. Which , surprisingly, goes really well with an all white ensemble.
I am feeling really inspired by this...for winter dressing of course, which is right around the corner for many of us. Not me, I live in Florida. Not for long though, hopefully.
This is a very cool and oddly very wearable. It’s exudes a street vs. glamour type of vibe, juxtaposed into one. I’d def like to incorporate this concept into my winter wardrobe!
